help finding cheap promotional items

I just started in a new department (love it!)
We are trying to get something together to join in with the American Heart Association's Start! walking program that starts April 16th. At some point we would like to give away promotional items such as pedometers, pens, tee shirts, totes, etc. You get the idea.
Has anyone here had any experience with this?
Do you have a great spot to get deals on promo items????

Oriental Trading has a good supply of promo items. They even have some you can imprinted. Look under Workplace FUN on the Party Supplies page.

i appreciate it. i will have my coworker check it out - we are just trying to come up with all kinds of fun ideas that will make this walking program a success (and our dept doesn't have too much money to put into it this year)

Also ask your town and/or chamber of commerce. You might not get things that are specific to what you're doing, but the last time I asked, I got pens, a bag, water, etc. Most CofC's have a promotional budget and giveaways they'll give you for an event.
