What would YOU get?
Here is a link to my local grocery store flyer for this week. I'm pretty sure it will work:
http://www.superstore.ca/east/thisWeeksFlyer.aspx
I'm looking to you frugal leaders to help me get the most for the cheapest
as we had to buy $800 new tires for the car AND pay $750 plane tickets this week :S so we only have a small amount for groceries....like, $50 and I'm trying to max it. Let me know!! I can't wait to see if what I think I'm going to get is what I should be getting!
Thanks in advance

whole chicken -- a few meals there
no name frozen veggies (unless fresh is cheaper)
honey tangerines (if you like them)
the Colgate toothpaste (I know you can't eat it... but, stockpile)
I didn't really see anything else that was worth the money. You can make a lot of it at home for much less.

This is a lot harder then I though it would be because your prices and package sizes are very different then mine.
I don't know how good these prices really are for you, KWIM? But a few things did stand out.
yellow and orange bell peppers for 1.99 a lb. We pay up to 3.49 a pound.
Colgate toothpaste 3/.99, if you need and don't have coupons thats great because around here a sale price is .99 for one.
Larsen deli ham at .49 is great
The tangerines at .79 is pretty good and the Avocados at .99 aren't great I have gotten them cheaper but currently they are 1.49 a pound.
Also the Scott paper towels looked like a good price.
Do you pay taxes on food?

Whole chicken-chicken, chicken soup, chicken salad
pork shoulder-stirfry(onion&peppers on rice)
peppers
pasta&sauce
tangerines
maybe a cantaloupe or pears
otherwise I'd just plan my normal inexpensive foodsMom to Emma, Spencer, Connor, Lily,Fletcher, Amelia and Adeline.
Mortgage $78,500/$15,200
EF 3 mo income barring
anymore emergencies

Thanks ladies!!!
I was planning to go with:
2 whole chickens (because even mark down chickens aren't this cheap)
3-4 bags of various n/n frozen veggies
some tangerines
4 peppers
2 english cukes
$10 worth of the ham (will freeze for DFH's lunches)
2 bottles pasta sauce
2 boxes w/w pasta
1 bag potatoes
1 bag onions
4 tubes Colgate
+powdered milk (in case we don't hve milk for a while) so I can bake stuff from scratch..I already have lots of flour ect. at home
And no, we don't pay tax on food...we pay 13% on non-food items. DFH also gets a 10% discount on non-gov't regulated items...so trying to stretch it!
I'm happy to see that what I was planning was mostly sensible...and whatever I have leftover from the $50 I will put to next week. I'm sure this will get easier as time goes on

Sounds like good list too me. Although I didn't say the chicken because I normally pay .79 a pound for it. But again that's my local prices not yours so if thats a good price for you then I would get it.
