Default Does frugality affect your politics?

Maybe this is dangerous, but I'm curious. Does frugality affect your political views? Voting for Hillary for universal health care? Voting for McCain for lower taxes? More likely to shop at Wal-mart? More likely to live off the grid and live green?

My frugality will not affect who I vote for. However, I am frugal because I'm pretty conservative. Does that make since?
I listen to everyone, and don't nec. vote by party. I vote for person. However, no one at this point floats my boat! I will vote, just not sure who for.
I am realistic and pretty much realize that they are all lying to us to get voted in. I'm also concerned about congress and senate, because they can truthfully be the power in this country.

It absolutely does! I want someone who is going to be fiscally responsible, someone who can make the tough decisions and stay within a budget-like us! Unfortunately, none of these candidates impresses me with this ability.

I am fiscally conservative.... frugal, if you will. I expect those in charge to be likewise. I am not in favor of big government which usually means higher taxes and higher waste. If I can tighten the belt, so can the politicians. So yes........ my frugality colors my political choices.

Absolutely! I walk to my polling place now instead of spending postage for an absentee ballot.

I suppose so. I can't relate to politicians who help pad the pockets of those who are wealthy at the expense of those who have nothing or little. I guess if I were making lots of money off other people's misfortunes and dire needs then I would be supporting the process but right now I feel monetarily raped and I'm basically struggling to keep my head above water.

No frugality is not considered when I think about who I
want to vote for. I hope I will always use frugality as a
way to stretch my budget dollars no matter what.
I do care about each politicians view on the issues such
as health care but my being frugal doesn't come into it.

I am frugal partially out of need and partially out of respect for the environment. I think to some extent my politics affect my frugality, not the other way around. :p

I generally lean towards the Green end of the spectrum.

Thanks everyone. Very interesting thoughts. I'm not secretly pushing for one team or the other; I just want to know how people feel on this.

I think to some aspect it does. I will not vote for someone who I feel does not care about people who have less

I vote mostly based on the candidate's foreign policy stance and also the 2nd amendment and state's rights.
So, no my frugality doesn't affect who I vote for.

I've been following this election fairly closely (via the BBC, NOT the american media which has nothing better to do than report polls and jeremiah wright).

My frugality does not affect my vote. But my financial responsibilty to myself and my community does.

Of the three candidates that are running right now I am STRONGLY supporting Obama as I believe he has been responsible enough to come out of nowhere and take down the Clinton Machine and The McCain Nightmare.

Obama has the ability to inspire people to take resopnsibility for themsleves and their community. I think that is a really admirable trait.

I believe in universal health care and I don't mind paying taxes as long as the funds are used to better the community... not to have a program started that ends up getting underfunded and never given a chance.
