Default How Long Will Pasta Keep?

I buy the big bags of pasta at sam's & have been thinking of picking up a few more bags. I believe that I have heard that if it is kept stored in its original plastic bag, it will last a long time.Do any of you exactly how long is a "long time" for pasta storage? Thanks

As long as it is kept dry and free from pests I would think it would keep indefinitely. It may lose some nutritional value over time. Some websites say a year, but I have pasta that is older than that in my pantry.

Pasta generally keeps like rice or flour. It's the bug eggs that can hatch like they do in flour that spoil it. If you throw it in the freezer it would probably keep till all your housepeas were grown and gone.

I am sure of it. Stick it in the freezer and you can keep it for...well, forever!

I've kept it in a cool cupboard for over a year.
I will be stocking up on that next week.

Pasta if kept cool and dry will keep for at least 2 years.
