I've got squashes of all shapes and sizes and colours coming up. Most of them I started in the house as seeds weeks ago. I bought a few tomato plants and yellow pepper plants (yummy!!) and they are in the garden. I have onions, garlics, and chards growing nicely. I have some melons started inside right now that will go in when I have the next break in the rainy weather!!!

were up at 6800 feet in the mountains, so I only have potatoes, peas, spinach and asparagus planted so far. Our frost date is 5/31 here. I am impatient...I have lots of big plans for this years garden.

Excitedly starting things in the house as we have a 5/31 frost date as well. Herbs are staring nicely in the house as well as tomatoes. The peas are doing well in the garden. The rest will have to wait.....

All the seeds I planted have either been eaten (by chipmunks or) are blooming!!!!!

I also have transplanted a couple flowers too for my garden.

When I get a couple more dollars, I want to go & buy some pretty annuals.

Hubby and I discussed the garden over coffee this morning. He has so much going with it, I can't keep up! I took notes on what I'll be canning, drying and freezing so I can start stocking up on supplies.

He tells me the garlic and onions should be ready soon and if I want to pick herbs to dry I can go ahead and get started.

I think it's going to be a very busy growing season.

WEll not so good. Planted Spinach about 3 weeks about and got a couple of heavy frost which killed them. Have some snap peas coming up well. Planted them in a large plastic container high enough so the ground hogs don't get them.

Holding off on planting anything else until teh end of the month. I guess North east ohio could possibly get snow later this week!

Mums from last year are coming along. Have some bulbs coming up. Also have poppies and babysbreath sprouting. Can't wait to plant the lettuce. May do that next weekend.

Just harvested some oregano, mint, lemon balm, sage, comfrey and flax. The herbs over-wintered nicely and some are ready for harvest now. Had a nice prowl around the garden and noticed there are several greens ready to harvest and lettuces coming along nicely.

The peas are about 8 inches to a foot tall now and ready to start climbing the fence. The asparagus is done and going to seed, we didn't harvest it this year intentionally. The cabbage should be putting on heads but are leafing out more... not sure what is going on there. The plants are large and two have gone to seed without making heads. It's okay though... since we grow heirloom varieties hubby will just collect the seeds.

We have tomatoes, sweet peas, rosemary, parsley, cucumbers, spaghetti squash, strawberries and cilantro. It's my best crop ever. The kids are so excited to check out the garden's overnight growth every morning.

I am jealous of all you southern folk with your long growing season! lol! I live in the high desert of Oregon. It froze last night and is spitting snow right now! But my seedlings are doing great inside, under lights. I have 5 varieties of tomato, 4 varieties of pepper, basil, and marigolds. I just started pumpkin, melon, and cucumber inside, and planted peas and spinach outside. Everything else will have to wait! Happy gardening everyone!
