Fat Quarter Train Now Boarding - All ABOOOAARRRRDDD!!
Our first activity for the new quilting club will be a Fat Quarter Train. If you'd like to hop on, please post here. I'll leave this open for one week - I'll close sign ups on July 4th.
I will make a list of the participants and their addresses. I'll start the train with 5 Fat Quarters (or more or less depending on the number of participants) (a Fat Quarter is a fabric piece approx 18" x 22"). I'll mail the list and the Fat Quarters to the first person on the list. The first person takes the Fat Quarters that they'd like to have and replaces them with ones from their stash - so if you take all 5, you have to add 5. If you take 2, you add 2 - then they mail the envelope and list to the next person (marking a check mark next to their name).
The Fat Quarters should make their way around our list and end up back in my mail box. Please do not keep the Fat Quarters for longer than a week as we'd like to keep this moving.
I'll send them out on July 7th. I'd also like input from you guys - would you like to do random Fat Quarters, or you would like to have a theme? Say all Christmas fabrics? Or Patriotic Fabrics? Novelty Prints? Majority rules here....
Lets get started! Who's gonna sign up first???~Jessica

My first surgery is July 1st, and I'm not sure how I'll do with it (I'll have a better idea of my limitations for the second surgery), so I think I'll have to bow out this time. Have fun everyone

Oh Lady V, there is nothing to make! That is the beauty of it ~ its just a fancy fabric exchange!
A Fat Quarter is basically equal to a 1/4 yd cut of fabric, but its "fat". A basic 1/4 yd cut is 9" x 44". However, a "Fat Quarter" is 18" x 22" (double the width, but halve the length).
So, I'll go into my stash and pull out 5 FQ's (I have plenty, its a sickness, really!)
I'll send them to the first person and they'll take what they want and replace them with something from their stash and send it to the next person, who will take what they want....etc, etc, etc...
Maybe for our first one we should not do a theme? Let's get everyone a chance to see what's going on, how the game works...etc..? What do you guys think?~Jessica

hey Jessica, could you or someone else post a pic of a fat quarter. I think I would like to join but I want to see one first before I jump on the train, or throw myself in front of it.
