Quilted checker board
I was surfing and came across this quilt. I think this is such a sweet idea. I picture this being really nice for a child and done in a more children's theme. Add little wooden pieces for checkers.

You could even make fabric pieces..... make yoyos..... and keep pieces in a quilted or fabric drawstring bag....

Years ago one of the fabric companies made a dark red, navy, and tan fabric panel that was a checkerboard. I quilted it and painted some small wooden stars for the checkers. It would be a real easy game to make for a Christmas present. A good game to play on cold or rainy days.

Very cute, great idea! You could just pack it up and take it anywhere with you!

I was thinking the same thing only making "pockets" on the back side with velcro to close them and attaching a ribbon on the ends to tie it up with. Sort of like a log when done.Originally posted by captclearance
