My finished quilt...
I have to share with my FV buddies. This is the largest quilt I've ever made - double bed size. It's for my youngest daughter's boyfriend. Don't ask me why...but she really wanted this...I think the relationship is serious...

The Celtic cross was designed by my daughter. I made the bias tape out of Liquid Gold fabric and hand appliqued it to the quilt.
Black is her boyfriend's favourite colour, and has symbolism attached to it. I added strips in colours with specific symbolism.
The machine quilting pattern is leaves, representing growth.
He loves it!
DD#2 bought all the supplies for the quilt and helped piece the top and sew on the binding. DH even helped cut binding strips and sandwich the quilt on the hardwood floor. I did the rest.

Wow what a labor of love and a family affair. I hope he's a keeper and what you did meant so much to your dd and her sweetie. That is so so nice.
