This is a mat that you can cut fabric on one side and is an ironing board on the other. My mom has one, and it was really convenient to have right next to her sewing machine. I am thinking of getting one with my 50% off Joann's coupon.
Do you have one? What size? Likes, dislikes?

I have never seen that at the JoAnn here. I'm interested in hearing others comments as well.

Michelle, I went to the link and checked it out. I have never seen this at my Joann's! I did read the review by someone who had purchased it and she said her blades wore out quicker with this because the cutting side was rougher. That would concern me cause they aren't cheap!! Other than that, the size would be a factor to me- 12 x 18 is not very big. I have an 18 x 24" cutting mat, and this is just perfect for what I need right now. I may purchase a larger one in the future.

If your blades wear out faster, they are expensive and one thing about quilting to do it well, you need sharp blades or the material tears and will then not be the proper sizes or shapes.
Second, the size is really small. I had a mat that small and ended up by giving it to my sil because it was too small to cut the longer strips of material. I love the size I have with is 18 x 24 also and would not want to go any larger because of room.
One thing this might be good for though is if your taking a quilting class or teaching one, but even then the size does concern me.
I also have to say one thing here. Companies want our money, plain and simple. Quilting is becoming a rage again in North America so they are doing everything they can to get more $$ from us. Just look at the cost of material. As quilters, we don't need all those gadgets to make beautiful quilts. So for me, I would rather put that money into either the purchase of material (fat quarters) or into Omnigard rulers.
This would be something that I would use next to my sewing machine so I wouldn't have to walk back and forth to the cutting mat when I'm sewing, and I wouldn't need a huge ironing board taking up space in my sewing room (did I tell you all that I have a new room all to myself? ) My mom has one and loves it. I'm going to get one to use in addition to my regular cutting mat...if it hurts my blades, then I won't use that side, but for the little ironing board alone it will be worth it to me.

I have one but I just use the iron side. I do all my cutting then I sew. I use it to iron seams teh right way. I have a real small iron so it works great.
The one I'm looking at is 12 x 18 (I think thats the size I posted in the other thread) and its sold through a book club I belong to. I still haven't purchased it, but I'm seriously thinking about it because of the small room I have for my sewing room.
I purchased a wooden ironing board, but it takes up so much space, that this Cut N'press could sit right on my sewing desk and not take up hardly any room.
