ISO: Flip Flop Quilt Pattern
In the May 2008 issue of Love of Quilting was a pattern for a flip flop quilt. Fons & Porter.
I would love to get a copy of this pattern.
Can anyone help me out?

Have you tried your library. Our library keeps their magazines for a year. You might find one there.

Wish I could send you a copy but you know how copy rights are. Here is a link to order a copy. http://www.fonsandporter.com/aspx/Fo...sue.aspx?id=79
It looks like a fun one to make.

Thanks PeggyJo.
But I also posted a notice on my local freecycle and got a copy. Have already started to cut out my flip flops from some old Hawaian shirts I had gathered. Will be posting some pictures shortly.

Laurie, so glad you found the pattern and for free also. Can't wait to see it.
Also,I never thought of using those shirts for a quilt but they would work great since hawaian fabric is not readily available in Nevada, LOL. I think I will ask for some hawaian shirts on our freecycle. Good thinking on getting the patter there.Have already started to cut out my flip flops from some old Hawaian shirts I had gathered."Success on any major scale requires you to accept responsibity."

I got a whole tote full of Hawaiian shirts and dresses off freecycle. Seems like everyone has one they bought at sometime and were more than happy to be rid of. lol
I love our freecycle the folks in our area are not only quick to offer stuff but hints as to which thrift store might be able to help out also. Like the one that has dollar bag day.

Just finished Flip Flop Quilt.
Made a patchwork backside from the leftover fabric from the flip flops.
Lucked out on the badding a neighbor came over for some help saw what I was doing and brought me enought badding to do the queen sized qulit. She had been given the badding and had no use for it. Worked out perfect!

flip flop quilt
Laurie, did you ever find the pattern you were looking for? I have 2 of the same magazine and would be willing to send you one of them, free of charge. Just let me know if you need it. Gail
Silly me, didn't see the pictures of the quilt you made. Glad you got to make it. I am going to be making it for my 11 yr old grandaughter for this Christmas. Guess I'll keep my extra copy in case someone from the quilting guild needs it. Happy quilting.Last edited by Gail from Michigan; 06-14-2009 at 06:19 PM.
