    Default Is anyone quilting?

So many members are knitting right now, I'm wondering if anyone is quilting?

I'm trying to get a number of baby quilt tops quilted. I haven't started any new projects when it comes to quilting, although I am tempted.

I'm planning on starting a denim/flannel rag quilt, but haven't gotten it going yet. Keep telling myself, can't start the quilt until ____ is done. lol It's a small motivation to complete some of the stuff I don't want to do.

I have blocks sitting on my sewing table right now that I need to put together into a quilt top and quilted, but I'm having a hard time finding the motivation.

I recently took a class on paper piecing intricate designs, which I am really into right now, but all the paper piecing patterns I'm finding are simplistic and kinda dull. sigh

I am....I posted a question about help with parallelograms, but no one responed. Anyway....I worked my way through it and now I'm putting on borders. Then I'll have to have it machine quilted...it's for a gift and I'm not comfortable with my skills to do it myself.

I'm working on a scrape quilt made out of old blue jeans and fishing shirts. My ex-foster daughter collected these items from her home after her dad died and before it was cleaned out. She left us but the items are still here. I promised to make her this quilt when she was here so I'm going to do it and have it sent to her at the group home where she is currently living. She has alot of anger and emotional problems and I hope this will help with her healing process. Shes just 15 and lost her mom to cancer 3 years ago and dad od last year. Family members have given up on her because she deals with any problem violently.

Well, if I could get the hang of my sewing machine, I will start one. I can sew by hand though.

(I can now sew straight lines with my sewing machine.....just gotta get used to it and I don't have alot of time to just sit and play)

I am piecing one for my niece. I used to do a lot of quilting, but gave it up about ten years ago. Still have all the fabric, though, lol! I recently thought I would try getting back into it.

Still working on my second snowman pillow. It will go with the first one I have finished as a Christmas 09 gift. I work between that and my crocheting.

I have a list every year where I write down what I'm working on or want to make, and the date it is finished. If it isn't finished when the year is up it moves over to the next year. I have so many projects started and unfinished it really isn't funny. So I started this years list with my UFO's, and I'm not allowing myself to even think about anything new until the old is done. I am really really really bad about it So right now I'm working on an autumn leaf quilt that just needs borders. And a santa sleigh embroidery wall hanging that just needs borders. And a pink/black quilt for dd that just needs borders. Do you see my issue here? And that doesn't complete my UFO list

I'm actually working on finishing up a knit scrap afghan this month, but next month my goal will be to finish the quilt I am working on. I can't work on both at the same time because when I hand quilt my fingertips get rough from the needle and when I work with yarn, it tends to get caught on it- very annoying. So, next month. I just need to finish the hand quilting and bind it. It's about half way done, and I really enjoy it once I get into it.

I have all the blocks cut out for a quilt I'm making for my daughter and plan on starting to sew next week. It's only the second time quilting(first was a stocking) so hopefully I don't get to frustrated.

My work is finally slowing down, so this weekend I'm going to get back to a Yellow Brick Road quilt I'm making for myself I started it over a year ago, I'm just about done cutting out the blocks, just need some major sewing time.
