I finished this in December. It's the last quilt I've done. It took me 2 months to complete because I got bronchitis somewhere in the making which extended the time to complete but I must say, my friend was so pleased with it.

I made it for an online friend who had a baby in August of last year.

The blanket is 47"x54". Not my own pattern, but my own design, measurements and specifications. The blocks are 10"x12" white muslin. The multicolored border is made of 3"x1" pieced strips using the same fabric as the shirts on the Overall Sam's. I got lucky and found the backing in my stash and it matched perfectly. It is baby blue with raised threads in the same colors that I used for the shirts and the 3"x1" border. I stitched the outline of Overall Sam in the blank blocks and around the machine appliqued Overall Sam's using off white quilting thread and it made them look puffy. I also hand quilted "in the ditch" around all of the sashing. It was a fun quilt to make.

Ohh...that's really cute. I'm too chicken to try appliqued quilts yet.

    Thank you Peanut.

Actually, I've only done 2 applique quilts, one was the Sunbonnet Sue & now this Overall Sam. I found them VERY easy to make. I was afraid also when I did the first one but you do it 1 block at a time so there is no way that you can't "fix" any mistakes that you make. I absolutely LOVE "Wonder Under".

Try one, I bet you'll love doing it also.
