    Default Can I quilt this?

I would like to make a quilt out of some of my daughter's most loved t-shirts - the ones she's outgrown but can't bear to part with - ones from special vacations, etc. Can cotton t-shirt fabric be quilted, or is it too "stretchy"? I'm kinda new to the whole quilting thing.

I thought about making pillows, but don't want that many t-shirt pillows lying around.

I tied the t shirt quit I made. It turned out great

A friend was going to hand quilt the t shirt quit she was making and found out she needed to use interfacing to make it less stretchy.

    Good luck

If they are a 100% cotton, the t-shirts should be fine to quilt....no different than 100% cotton material. If they are a mix fabric, I would add interfacing to the back. Sounds like a great project! Can't wait to see pictures when it is done.

If you have used some sort of interfacing/stablizer on the t-shirts, why wouldn't it work?

I haven't made mine yet.....but a friend has, I will asked her what she did for the quilting part of it.
