Question Does anyone EQ or use Blockbase?

Was wondering if any of the quilters here on FV use EQ in their quilting? Which one? How do you like it?

I have EQ5 and was especially wondering if EQ6 was that much of an improvement over 5..........any comments?

How about Blockbase? If so, have you moved the squares to EQ to work with?

    thanks for any comments.......

I haven't gotten to try any of the computer type sewing machines yet. My newest is a 1995 Nechi that doesn't come with a quilting foot, lol.

I am interested in comments on how well people like the newer machines and if they are difficult for a novice to use.

Hey dolphin.....EQ (electronic quilt) programs are ones that you use on your computer. It is a computer program where you can make a quilt.........load your own fabrics into it...if you have a scanner, and then use them to make a quilt. You can do just a block (which is the part I use A LOT!) or a full quilt. I do the block thing as then it will tell you what can be rotary cut and how to cut it, and how much fabric you need. No sewing machine involved.

As for the quilting foot.........have you tried the ones at JoAnn's?......or is the shank on the Nechi different? My mom had one and I can't remember. I refused to pay the price of the quilting foot for my machine and bought one at JA's for under ten bucks and it works fine. My machine has a straight shank.
