Quilting Club - October 2009
~The cold weather will be here very soon! Get out your quilts-in-progress and join in!
I'm only an hour from finishing my t-quilt. I'm also hand-quilting a baby quilt for my niece due in January. When I make some progress on those two I'll start cutting out squares for my denim circle quilt.
What are you working on this month?~~Constance

As I mentioned on the October sewing thread .....
quilts for my preschoolers - Machine quilting
Wolf lap quilt - Hand sewing
And I'll probably find some other goodies I want to work on too!Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

I should make better progress this month, now that the cold weather is setting in......
have lots of things going......want to finish the wacky stack, blocks done, sashing to cut and do. Should go together fast once the cutting is done.
Still cutting the Hip 2B Square flannel quilt.
Have a hydrangea flower with 'petals' kit to finish that I bought ages ago from Nancy's Notions. Needs the meandering done in the background so I can start putting the flower together.
If I can get most of this done I will be happy......and then on to more UFO's........it is like XMAS down in my basement!!

Sounds as if it's going to be Christmas all over FV as the FV elves go into high gear!!

I can see the bottom of the box of cut strings! Wonder how many more blocks I'll get....then I'll know what size I'm making. I'm thinking it's going to be a tablecloth for summer.....it's 30's repro fabrics. When it's finished I'm going to tea dye to make it look old (plus it'll take the stains better as the tablecloth!). Wow I remember when that box was overflowing......
Progress tastes so good!

FF - dump the box out on a table and look at the bottom - voila!! And then as you put all your goodies back you will be even more inspired!! I know - it;s late and I'm going to bed.

Working on the wedding ring quilt for Josh and Nicki. I have the top about half way done. I hope to have the top completed tomorrow. If I can get a few hours of Hunter free time on Saturday and Sunday I might just get it completely done before I go to Georgia on Monday. That is probably wishful thinking though.

Might be wishful thinking and ambitious Militlady - but then these things happen!!

My cousin is bringing a treasure for me to work on........a paper pieced quilt by one of our relatives from way back when they pieced on newspaper.
If it was going to be used, I would pull away the newspaper. But I don't want to do too much to it to preserve the history. I'm thinking batt and tie the quilt and leave one edge finished off, but able to lift up and look at the inside.
What do you think?

Well, MM, I am in trouble there too......it isn't 'exactly' one box....try 1/2 of my whole basement!!
3/4 of that is set up with sewing....even have pieces hanging from the support boards on the ceiling! How sad is that?.......but it makes me happy when I am down there!! I LOVE IT....it can be off limits except to only those 'chosen few' that I allow down there......and other than that.....no one knows!! Like my 'dirty little secret'.....!!!
Oh vickilynn.......WE HAVE TO HAVE PICS!!! What a treasure! Even pics before you start working on it would be appreciated. You have received a real treasure!!

~Well, today I did about the stupidest thing I could do and I'm blaming quilting!
After lunch I looked at the clock and said to myself, okay, we have an hour and 15 minutes before we have to leave to go to dd's appointment so I'm going to quilt to pass the time.
You know what happened right?
I got a call from the doctor's office because I was late. How late? I'd quilted for over two hours.
I'm so embarrassed and upset. I've been so stressed lately that I'm not surprised by my forgetfulness.
And the quilting itself was just so nice.
I just got lost in it.
They're going to try to get dd in tomorrow morning.

How can I join the quilting club?

Right now I'm working on a 9 patch quilt done in the Wee Play fabric by Moda. Hoping to finish piecing the top soon, so I can start making some quilted potholders for Xmas.Emergency Fund $1500

Just hop on in..........welcome aboard......I am the 'picture bug'.......hope you post pics of the quilt.
Think there is a link of some sort in the hobby part.....not sure how you get that funny little emblem in your side bar.....DC will probably know, when she appears. Check your user cp to see if the 'club' is in there.....if you don't find it under hobbies.
