Well......okay, I will ask...what else CONSTRUCTIVE would you do with your time?
If quilting is enjoyable to you --then go for it.
I like the lizard on a ladder ---after the blue butterflies, of course. Not sure which lizard you were talking about.
My hobbies are cheaper than a shrink........they keep me sane. I have to have some sort of creative outlet! OTHER than cooking......as that goes back to eating and a surplus of that I don't need!

Girlfriend...SOMETIMES ya just gotta live.
Bank of America is THE godfather of Hell with Wells Fargo running neck and neck. When the world ends the only things that will be left are cockroaches, Walmart, Wells Fargo and Bank of America. Not necessarily in that order. The order remains to be seen.

Well, there are several things in play here. One really is the consideration of quilting in the Texas summer. Yuck.
I gurantee I will still be in love with the pattern in the fall. I like lizards and drool over batik fabrics whenever I see them. It's a pattern designed in heaven for me.
If I'm not quilting, I will be doing something constructive. I make afghans for a hospice program, and since I'm listening to more audio books now, it is an even more enjoyable thing to do. I do have other projects in hand. Not to mention a huge backlog of puzzles I want to work eventually. Plenty of fun things for the coming months.
Now that I am over the initial excitement of finding the pattern, it is easier to delay it, because, in fact, I don't particularly care for quilting. As I said, I've done it, but wasn't anxious to do it again. For this design, I would undertake it, but I'm not exactly sitting around thinking "gotta quilt, gotta quilt..."
About a week ago I came in to work and found my supervisor all wrapped up in a gorgeous quilt. She had taken special event t-shirts to a woman who has a shop in a small nearby town and had it made. The price was very reasonable. One thing I am considering is, if I do in fact do it, give her a call and see if she would quilt it after I make the quilt top. That would give me the fun of making the pattern, and avoid the tedium of the quilting. It would also look better, I'm sure! Her work was beautiful.
At any rate, I'll be happier if I use up more of the yarn first. Every time I walk into my closet and see it I have pangs of conscience. I could hide it, a lot of it anyway, in a huge trunk I have, but I figure it's better to be confronted with my addiction on a regular basis.Donna
