Walmart is listening to the fabric buyers!!!
Everytime I go to Walmart I ask, any news, are we going to lose our fabric? Yesterday, she said that Walmart got so many complaints from one area they put the fabric back into the store. The area had no other fabric stores. So, there is hope for our store!! I know it'll still be their bottom line. But there is hope!

Oh, I hope they put it back everywhere. There is nowhere else to buy notions or fabric close by, and the fabric store in the next town is really not an easy place to shop with kids.

One thing I have noticed is that they do listen to their customers.
Our new SuperCenter had it's initial inventory based on a store in a similar sized town. The guy who is the accountant for the store is in my Bible study, and told us to go to the service desk and tell them what items we want to see stocked.
They have added many of the items my friends have asked for.

The town to which we have to travel for shopping has two Walmarts, and only one kept its fabric store. I recently began to ask the fabric counter employee about the rumors, and she answered before I could get finished, that they were not going to close their fabric department because there had been so many complaints. Woo-hoo!

INTERESTING!
Not sure they would do that here as we have JA's and Hancocks - plus quilt shops. DARN! And they were starting to get a better quality of fabric in there too. Plus they were cheaper on some of the notions.
This will be interesting to watch!
MC - if that works about requesting, I may try it. They quit carrying the 'base' that I use to make my hand cream. I was soooo mad. They were the only store that carried it. May give it a try............and hope!!

That's great news. I wonder if they'll keep the fabric in the store near me -- I don't go to WM often (maybe once a year lol), so I'm not even sure if they ever took it out or just scaled back.
