Question What draws you to quilting?

We've had so many sign up for the quilting tutorial. What draws you to the art of quilting?

Part of it is family heritage. My grandma quilted and I have 2 of hers done in the 70's. My aunt quilts with the ladies at her church. A close family friend "aunt" also made me one.

Part of it is inspiration from those who quilt now and those who have quilted long ago. A desire to be connected and to try to "do that too"

Plus there are all those neat fabrics! LOL

I used to watch my grandmother quilt. My mom now quilts and I would love to learn. I have one quilt my grandmother made me on a quilt rack that noone is allowed to use. I think it is because she is no longer with us that I am afraid something will happen to it. I can't wait to learn and of course, they will be able to use the ones I make....if they are useable...lol!

I like making things and knitting and such is to slow to me. Quilting shows results fast enough for me.

Sewing something is the only area in my life where I can "see" something and then make it.

I love fabric! Hence my over abundant stash!

When I complete something, it gives me a sense of pride that I made it myself!

    I love to decorate!

I love fabric, but mostly I want to quilt because my mom quilts, loves it and I want to have something we can share

Well the reason is 2 fold
    1) I always wanted a quilt that was made just for me.
    2) I like that i can do something creative where no one can say "you are not doing it right"
