Interesting storage idea. Does this size fold fit into something
specific that you have for fabric storage?
Am always interested in how other people organize/store things.
I just bring the fabric home........fold it.......and put 1/2 (or small piece) of a small post it note stuck on the inside of the first fold, with the fabric amt. written on it. If it gets cut.........the new amt. is written on the post it before I put it away. (this can get behind when I am cutting a new quilt........and thus, create a mess on one of my hobby tables!)
I absolutely DETEST looking at a piece of fabric for a quilt and not knowing if there is enough there to do it or not.........or having to stop and measure. This way I know right away.

They fit perfectly on book shelves. I use a tension rod in the bookcase to hold a curtain to protect the pretties from sun and dust. I have pictures but not on a web based server. Is there a way to post directly? I also use shoe cubbies from Target or the like for FQs.

At bottom of quick posting screen, click on "go advanced".....
When that screen comes up, scroll down to where it says
"manage attachments".......click on that......
Another screen will come up that lets you then go to your computer and pull a pic off..........when you have found the pic, clicked on it, so that it registers on the just opened screen........click upload.
If it is a big file it may take awhile to download, while it
down sizes it.........but it will do it.
Close that window..........it should then be listed in the attachment area of the posting..............
Hope this helps..............and is sort of clear......

Very impressive Piney!! Mahalo for sharing!!
How do you all store your scraps - you know the small pieces that we hesitate to throw away?Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

Very nice and organized pinecone.
Love looking at others storage...........it can give me ideas.
That would work for some of mine............might have to consider it.........I could get rid of some plastic totes.
My 'confession' is that I have bolts of some fabric....
.........don't even ask........refuse to discuss it!!!
A friend is trying to convince me to put some shelves to hold it.........we are still discussing the "possibilities"........with my refusal to put holes in the cement walls of my basment.

Is your ceiling area unfinished? If the floor joists are exposed, maybe you could attatch a 2x4 to some of them with an L bracket or two to go down the wall. Put a metal track on the 2x4 that has slots for shelf brackets. A piece of wood cut to the length needed, primed and painted would work. No holes in the wall needed.
I do have a few bolts but not many. Mostly muslin that are tucked under my cutting table.

I have three of those 'three drawer' plastic things at each end of my cutting table. That is where my 'decent but small' pieces go. Drawers are labeled according to size in drawer. Also gives me more room on each end of the cutting table for the bolts/fabric and sewing machine.........
Anything smaller than 1/8 yard goes in a bag. Leftover pieces for a quilt are put in produce bags........elsewhere in the basement.
I have had EXACTLY that comment made.........and my
basement is pretty much off limits if you aren't a fabric hoarder!!
The people that quilt love it, and think they are in a candy store.......and yes, I have sold some!!! Put it this way DC.....all the fabric I sent you came off bolts.
Too funny piney.............THAT is exactly what we finally settled on.........then she decided that I would need better lighting, so would have to put some sheet rock or something up to reflect the light down...........and then...........she is full of ideas when it isn't her budget.
And she didn't say that she would help!!
