Well with the money I got, I put a sewing machine on layaway.
Along with a new pc desk so my current pc desk can go back to sewing table status

BOO HOO! I didn't get any under the tree, even though I asked for it. I was waiting to see if I would get any before I bought it. Well, looks like I will be heading out to get it myself.

I already have a sewing machine. I inherited my grandmothers a couple of years ago. I still use it.

Michelle, that Fray check is the best. When appliquing, you'll need it. You can also use it on clothes when thread might be coming unravelled in an applique design on jeans, etc.

I have about 4 bottles of it here because I use it for quilting but also use it for making my bears. When I cut the fur, before I cut it I use the Fray check and then the fur doesn't unravel!!!

I got a new sewing machine (Brother brand) from my mom... along with a seam ripper, measuring tape, thread, and some pins.
I got $50 from my grandparents... which I spent on FQs, thread, and a ruler for the tutorial.

Grrrrrrrr hubby forgot to get my seam ripper. I had one eons ago but lost it in the move I guess. lol
QUESTION I saw that the dollar store had a little kit that included a seam ripper, is there such a thing as TOO cheap of one?
We are going to JoAnn's this weekend as they have some great sales and I have a coupon. PLUS I am going to get my fat quarters. woohoo but i did miss the posting about the yellow fabric, where is that and whats the reason for having yellow?

Boy, since I quilted last, they must have got some new stuff out. Gee, I think the last time I quilted anything was when my daughter was a baby. That was like 18 years ago. I kept everything I had, I put my quilting frame away. I was crocheting cause it was easier & I could take it with me. Maybe if I ever retire, I will get it all back out. it was relaxing doing that.

I didn't get any quilting supplies for Christmas. I knew I wouldn't get a sewing machine - I don't even really know what to look for in one so there's no way ds could have figured out what to buy! LOL! I really wanted a quilting book that was on my wish list, but he chose not to get it.

Kindred - I don't think seam rippers really matter the cost. A seam ripper is a seam ripper and I've got them really cheaply and they've always lasted. Besides when you continue to lose them, that way your not out a whole pile of $$.

As to the yellow fq, I'm telling. That will be in my tutorial later.
