Disappointed in our Jo Ann's
I was so happy to start off, planned to get my haircut professionally today, had been cutting it myself and it was really looking it, too!
Next stop was JoAnn's, where I haven't been in over a year.
I went in to take a look at their quilting fabric, get a little new to blend with the old and also to get a pattern to make my son basketball shorts and warm ups.
The didn't have any end cap patterns on those little turn thingies except stretch and sew and all of them were weird, at least for Texas...as they were like snow hats, warmers for over boots, stuff like that.
None of the pattern books except Butterick had a patterns men's athletic shorts or sweats! I was shocked!
I know they have the same patterns for different uses like PJs same as sweats etc, so I was going to get the Butterick 50% off....and still spend almost $5!
AND...it was only the one size, no other markers for expanding here or making smaller there. That is what I was looking for on the endcaps because you usually get three patterns in one....and you can adjust the pattern from those measurements.
I refused to pay the $5 for something I couldn't even work with.
Their quillting fabrics were mostly dark to medium blues, reds, the strangest greens I have seen in a long time and NO burgandy or pinks!
I was totally disappointed.
I am going to WalMart tomorrow...

Oh I am so sorry. I love Joann's and rarely got to Wal-mart. I buy with a coupon or when it is on sale. I saw some pinks and burgandys today. I hope wally worlds works out better for you.

I'm feeling your pain. Although our Joann's isn't quite as bad as that, it's the only fabric store in town along with Walmart. I wish they would carry more fabric, and sewing supplies rather than dried flowers, baskets, crafting supplies, etc. I can get those kind of things at Michaels or A.C.Moore.

i have been disappointed in our joanne's also. 2x's a week for the last week i have drove the 25 miles to check wht they have on clearance. nothing much. i hate their pattern prices, and as i can't realy sew i guess it is ok, that i don't buy any. but they just don't have a good variety. it is also our only fabric store unless i want to drive another 15 miles or so.
