I love quilting because I am a fabricaholic and love to make pretty things with it all. I also love it because it's my mom's passion, and I feel like we finally have something in common that we both enjoy.

I love quilting because I generally use otherwise unusable materials- I get a thrill from seeing some "useless" pieces of fabric become a work of art.

I love quilting because it is so rewarding.....lots of work but beautiful results!! I find because I love quilting I am relaxed while doing it. I also think piecing fabric together always tell some type of story...."I remember when I made this one, this was happening in my life etc....." or "this fabric was from your dress when you were 2", that kind of thing....history in the making!

    Thanks CJ!!

I love that people think it is harder than it is. I love making somthing that the person will use to feel good. I love planning the next one and who will get it.
I love tucking in my kids with the blankets I made and them smiling ear to ear and saying "mama make for me"

Well, I am pretty new at it as well. Actually, I am still in the cutting phases, so I havent actually quilted yet, but I am working on it. CJ once said about dieting the way I feel about this "slow but steady wins the race"

The thing I love the most about quilting is the way that it brings you close to people. For instance a quilt can be handed down for generations in families or cherished by someone who doesn't even know where it originated. But what I love the most is the way it has brought this village together. I want to be good at this, but I have so many other committments at the moment, but I know that when I get to a point where I can share in my triumphs, my sisters will triumph with me!!!

I love quilting because it brings people together. all of us online, my grandmother and I, my mom and I , my friends. It is sort of the same as a quilt in a way, pieces from all over comming together for a specific, and fun purpose.....held together by a shared bond...(whoops getting sappy, sorry) It is something I hope to someday share with my children and maybe their children too, to continue bringing the pieces together...

I love quilting because it brings history to the present. It is a way to be connected to not only women (or men) in one family but in the human family. Many, many countries do some sort of quilting. It may not look like traditional American quilts but it is still a traditon of fabric and love.

And speaking of fabric, it is a great hobby because I can buy lots of fabric and use it together to make something beautiful.

I love quilting because it is all mine. It is the ultimate me time for me and I enjoy spending time with my fabric. I love to think about all of the different colors and patterns and what I can put together.

I too am way behind in the tutorial. I look at my materials sitting on the diningroom table & just can't seem to get motivated. I know I will soon...
The idea of quilting makes me think of wrapping a part of me around my loved ones. The quilt will keep them safe & warm and a part of me will always be with them. Hope that makes sense, lol.

I love quilting because its a beautiful craft that can use material that might be discarded otherwise and because this is a functional craft and you can use and love the finished product. I also love it because I feel centered and at peace when I am trying to quilt. I feel connected to all quilting women since time began.

I love quilting because I am doing something my grandmother did - I feel like I can share it with her even though she's gone and I regret not having wanted to do this earlier in my life so she could have taught me. I also love seeing ds's face light up when he finds out that I am working on something for him.

What do I love about quilting?

I love the way I can piece material together to make it the way I want it. I love the satisfaction it brings me of the accomplishment I have done!! I have never quilted before joining the quilting club and am already loving it. I love the challenge and the reward it brings of the finished product.....my homemade quilt.

I love quilting because I love sewing and working with fabric and learning how to make new designs. It's my "me" time and after I have completed the quilt it feels so good to give it to someone I love. My first quilt is on ds's bed and when he has friends over, he proudly tells them that "Mom made this quilt for me." He always gets comments like "Wow, I wish my mom would make me one." It's just such a good feeling to know that he will always cherish something that I made with my hands and heart.

    I just love quilting!
