Exclamation Started the tutorial on the Bachelor's Puzzle

I've started the tutorial on the Bachelor's Puzzle and the next 2 blocks, (this one and the next one) will be some repetative work. The reason for this is so that you get these simple parts down so that when the harder blocks come, you'll all be pros at it.

Often when quilting, we want to jump at the harder blocks and proceed quickly, but there really is a process in which we learn the easy parts first and then go to the harder parts.

The other thing you will notice in this block is I've used yellow in my middle square. We will use yellow again in another couple of blocks and then in part of the finished work in our quilt. Now you may not want to use yellow, but because this is a sampler and a learning process, please at least try to use yellow. You'll notice that the quilt will have a "sparkle" when you use yellow/gold and I try to use it in every quilt I make. As my gifted teacher said "you always want a little surprise in a quilt" and she was indeed right.

So have fun. If your behind, its okay. I'm going slowly.

btw - the next block will be "jar block" just for fun. So you'll need to decide what you want in your jar. Find a piece of material that has on it something like - flowers, buttons, bears, animals, fish (rofl), fruit, anything you might want in a jar. You'll also need a bit of black and a bit of red. (If you don't have a black or red fat quarter, see if you have a scrap piece of material each color laying around. This is only going to be a fun block.)

Anyone with a guilty conscience. Awe ladies I'm not talking about you, I'm talking about me.

I can never wait, I'm the most impatient person when it comes to doing quilts or hobbies, for that matter, than anyone.

I always need to remind myself to slow down. I'm doing a quilting challenge again, and I'm way ahead because I just couldn't wait for everyone else. Thats just me.

I get myself into more trouble when I'm taking a quilting class than anyone there, because I can't wait for the instructions. I need to get it done, you know, like yesterday!!!
