    Question beginner quilter here......

What is the easiest pattern to begin with?

DH bought me a beginners quilting book last Mother's Day, but I can't decide on a good easy pattern to start with.

Awe its good to see you in the quilting forum.

Laura, if you look at the stickies, I have a quilting tutorial there and the first one we did was a simple nine-patch, a very easy pattern. Next, we did the Churn Dash, then the Bachelor's puzzle. On the weekend, will be going to another block.

I'm doing them in easy steps, the have pictures there for you to look at, and each block builds on the last block.

These are simple and easy to do and once you've learnt those, it will be much easier to do other patterns.

The rail fence is also another easy block (we haven't done yet). The Log cabin is another easy one, which I'll be doing a tutorial on after were finished the next 2 blocks I'm doing.

I was just going to tell you that you should start on CJ's tutorial with us.
She's doing a great job on it.

I agree, CJ's instructions are very easy to follow. Keep us updated when you start and finish them.

Ok. everyone was thinking the same thing! Definitely start with CJ's tutorial. I can't follow the directions in the books without getting confused but I can follow CJ's!

I recommend the log cabin or rail fence as a first pattern (after CJ's tutorials of course )
