Robin, I'm not sure. I need to see the book first. I would like to make it (maybe) in deep purples and dark greens but I want to see the pictures of the blocks close up. Or another thought is doing it all in deep purples. Now I don't particularly like purple as a color, but I've seen quilts made in deep purples with creams and no other colors and they are glorious.

So I'll let you know as soon as I get the book, hopefully within a month.

Edited to add: It looks like there is no applique!!!! YAHOO!!!!

What a neat book and theme!! Do we belong to the same craft book club because I think I have seen that before? I belong to Crafters Choice.

Kin, most of my quilts I've given away. Each of my kids, old and younger have their own quilts, all my grandchildren (except the youngest) has his/her own quilt, my mom has a quilt, a friend has a baby quilt and all the quilts I've got here (except my challenge quilt) are designated to go somewhere.

Any baby quilts I make will now be going to an homeschooling/adoption organization I belong too.

And my plans on to begin making single quilts to be donated to charities.

    Why, do you want one???

Hey, CJ, I promise not to tell if you won't.....ummmm......I belong to Crossings too!!!!! And yes I did see the fat quarters..how convenient, fat quarter shopping from the convenience of your own home!! Bonus!!!

That is great what you do with your quilts, your family and friends sure must treasure your masterpieces and your thoughtfulness!! What a great idea too with the baby quilts and the homeschool/adoption organization...is it local or a national group?

Actually it is an organization in the States but they also have Canadian members. They take care of special needs kids and have now gone into the adoption area of adopting special needs kids. They've just started and I just felt I was suppose to make some baby quilts for those that either the birthmom decides to keep or to give to adoptive parents. They work at trying to keep the baby with the birthmom, but if she feels she can't then they help get the baby adopted. (Always special needs babies though.)

I've just started collecting kids material - didn't have a whole lot of that material laying around. My plan is to donate 10 baby quilts this year and each year to add more.

To anyone reading this - if you ever make a quilt and get a chance, donate it to a charity of your choice. No quilt has to be perfect, charities love getting them and it makes you feel oh so good. You can make a baby quilt in a matter of days with little $$ spent and the joy of knowing that someone else will use one of your quilts is awesome!!!

Now Calico, I know no one will be reading this. Did you order the fat quarters. Shsssssh, don't tell anyone, but I did. I just couldn't resist!!!!

Should I tell or should I not!! My order went out last Thursday, wow, do we think alike or what!!! I did think about it for a real long time though....does that count for being frugal and wise!! We'll have to compare what we get!

Thanks for telling us about the organization! What a wonderful cause!! You are an . I am going to look for something like that around here, thank you very much, I have some baby quilt cheaters that I can make up and maybe that would be ok...two of them are precious moments. They are really cute!
