Talking It wasn't a bug - it was a needle!!!

Theres no water so I decided to finish quilting the small quilt I'm doing. I can't do much else without water. The kids are being quiet, dh is watching a movie with them and I only have a small corner left of the quilt to do.

Its going well, the free motion quilting is looking not too bad (I've only started using free motion quilting so I'm still getting use to the darning foot).

Ouch I screamed. Dh says, whats the problem. Did a bug get you? HAHAHA!! No I said, the _________ needle did. I sewed my thumb to the quilt. The needle went right through the edge of my thumb!!

When free motion quilting, your hand gets quite close to the needle. Well, in my case, way too close.

AS if that isn't enough, dh is standing there laughing - my comment to him was "if you don't stop laughing I'll sew your thumbs, your lips and whatever else I can (you get the picture) to this __________ quilt and then I can laugh!!!!

MEN, whatever will we do with them. I mean had it been him, I would have ran and got the bandaids, well probably NOT. I would have probably been rolling on the floor laughing too!!!

Oh Sis, I know how unfunny this is! Especially on your end! But in dhs defense, an expert like you doing something like this is very unexpected and would be funny.
However haveing done similar things, I promise I am not laughing, smiling a touch, but NOT laughing!

OUCH CJ. That hurts just thinking about it. I hope it is feeling better now. You know every quilt and every garment I have ever made I had to christen with a drop of blood from my poor pricked finger too. I even tried wearing the leather thimbles thinking it would help, -it didn't, I swear I could prick my finger if I was wearing a suit of armor, LOL.

Watch out for that wild needle and take care of your poor wounded thumb.

    Have a blessed evening.
