Default Have you ever been to a quilt festival?

I went to one a few years ago. It was in Burlington VT It was my first encounter with seeing quilts that were very creative and didn't follow "rules". I'm always impressed with seeing how different artists quilt.

    I just love these:

I know not everyone likes applique, but I just love how they look. I don't think I have the patience to hand stitch or the knowledge, but I love looking at them.

Yes, although on a much smaller scale than I'm sure you did Sara. The mennonite college in Winnipeg has them and they show different quilts, that totally don't follow the rules.

They had a couple of really neat ones. Two that I especially liked were quilts from Africa and the show on "abuse", totally radical that one was.

I love the look of applique, its doing the applique I don't enjoy!!

I have never been to one but I would love to go. I would really love to plan my vacation around the big Houston International Quilt Show one year. Now that would be my idea of a dream vacation, LOL.
