Thumbs up Oh my I love this quilter and I haven't met her

Shes from the east coast of Canada. She is 79 years old and is called the quilting lady.

She has 8 kids, 25 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Just for them, she has made over 50 quilts.

But her story goes further. Here is part of her story:

    - she makes all sizes of quilts
    - she makes 2 quilts per day
    - she said if someone would bring her a cup of tea or coffee, she'd only need a pamper (too funny)
    - she quilts day and night
    - she quilts on an antique black iron Singer sewing machine
    - she gives all her quilts away
    - her quilts have gone to Russia and to northern Canada to a aborignal reserve
    - she started quilting at 11 and never looked back Her grandmother taught her to quilt because her mom passed away when she was 10
    - she dreams her designs when sleeping
    - all her quilts are made with old sheets, clothing from the Salvation army goodwill store. All recycled material!!!!
    - she gives many of her quilts to volunteers and those at the Salvation army

Now thats the type of quilter I'd love to be!!!

Edited to add: They just interviewed her on CBC radio, the noon hour!!

She certainly is an awesome lady! I can't seem to complete one quilt in a year and she does 2 a day, all I can say is WOW, that is some quilter.

    CJ sure is Carolyn!

What an inspiration this woman is. A true treasure!! Thanks CJ, that was very interesting. I can only imagine the love, tears, joy and heart that went into her quilts.
