Rainbow colored quilt binding. Do they even make such a thing? I'm making quilts for babies for charity and a couple new great nieces/nephews. I don't know the sex of the babies and thought rainbow colors would be nice, especially since the quilts are pretty plain otherwise.

Denise, I've seen some rainbow material but it was bought up so fast that I wasn't able to get any.
There are a couple of ways you could do it if you didn't find rainbow material.
- you could use a pale yellow that has a kids print on it, with animals or such.
- you could also do it in strips, where you use pink, blue, yellow, pink, blue yellow and continue on in that way.
Or you could do each side a different color. For instance, one side could be pink, another side blue, another side yellow and the other side mint green.
Just a number of different ways to do your binding if you can't find rainbow material.

You have to make it difficult, don't you?
I'm looking for the easy way out of course.
You have some great ideas though. If I make my own with strips, don't they have to be cut on the bias?

Denise, no they don't have to be cut on the bias if your making your own binding. Here is how I do it.
I cut strips 3 inches wide. Fold them in half and press, then in half again and press. Works perfect. I know some people don't use as wide a binding as I do, but 3 inches works for me. I make all my own binding this way.
Here is a great website to help with binding. Just scroll down and you'll see lots of different areas for binding.
