Quilting contest for QUILTING CLUB MEMBERS ONLY
Were having another contest and a fun one. I'm hoping everyone that belongs to the quilting club will take part.
Here is how the contest runs.
You MUST make a quilt block with ONLY scraps. It doesn't matter what type of block you make, easy or hard but you can ONLY USE SCRAP PIECES OF MATERIAL The blocks MUST be size 12 1/2 x 12 1/2. It also doesn't matter what level of quilting your at or what colors you make the quilts. The more colors, the better!! If you don't have enough scrap pieces of material, your allowed to use 2 fat quarters only along with your scrap pieces.
Once the block is done, I'd like you to send it to me and I'll put the quilt together and the winner will pick the charity of their choice. The winner will also win 10 new fat quarters along with a few other quilting goodies.
Each person who makes a block will have their name entered to win.
You'll have until Sept. 30th to have the block finished and mailed to me by Oct. 15th. I'll draw the winning name on Oct. 20th.
Each block that is sent to me, I will take a picture and post it here and when the quilt is done, will also post a picture for all to see.
Who is game to take part - come on, it doesn't matter what level your at in quilting, its for a good cause and you'll have a chance to win a prize.
Edited to add: I've changed the dates to accomodate everyone.

CJ, this sounds like fun, and I'd like to participate, but I'd need more time. It will take about 2 weeks (maybe less and maybe longer for others) to reach you.
Would it be possible to extend the deadline a little?

Sure we can. Lets put the blocks as being done by the end of Sept. 30th and to me by Oct. 15th. I will draw the name on the 20th of Oct. How does that sound?
That way we can donate the quilt for Christmas to the charity.

Where are all the quilting club members? I made this contest easy for you and thught it would be fun to donate at least one, possibly two quilts to charity.
It doesn't matter how experienced you are - take the challenge.
Are there anymore who want to get involved in this contest? Come on ladies.

I'll see what I can do- I have a pretty full schedule this month, but should be able to fit in one.
So. . . . . what if someone wanted to make more than one- can they be entered into the contest for each block they make?

Denise, yes if they make more than one, they will have their name entered for as many blocks as they send.

CJ I am crying like a loon here! I was working on my Card Trick Block and my sewing machine broke!!! Dh said that I have to get an estimate on getting it fixed, but it may be awhile, so I have to ...for now... back out of the contest because I am unsure if it will be fixed before the due date. I am so sorry.

Diana, no its not too late. Start sewing girl and I'll look forward to getting a block from you.
Anyone can still join.
Melissa, I had posted here that I would extend the date for you so that you would have a chance to make your block. Not sure where the thread ended up, but I'll extend the date until Oct. 31st. Everyone needs to have the block to me by Oct. 31 and I'll draw the winner Nov. 1st.
Hope that helps you Melissa.
