Angry CJ my sewing machine is broke

CJ! My sewing machine is broken. Each time i try to sew it clumps thred on the back. i don't know whats wrong. When it isn't cklumping thread (from the bobbin) the...uh...what is the thing that holds the bobbin called?? whatever it is called, it jams. I am not sure what's going on in this machine. I am thinking it is time to get a more substantial machine....

But anyhow until i can fix it myself or until i can have it fixed, i can't do any of the blocks. Whichmeans that if I can't get it fixed in time, I will have to back out of the contest too. That really bumms me out, but I am hoping to get it fixed in time.

Do you fix your own machines when they break? Do you have any idea what could be wrong with mine?? Maybe I can fix it myself?

Melissa, it sounds like the tension, but I'm not very up on sewing machines. I could never fix mine if it broke, its computerized. Have you done a search on the net, it might give you a few suggestions as to what could be wrong. Just a thought!!! One suggestion though, if you don't think you can fix it, then leave it for the experts, because it might end up costing you a whole lot more once you've tried, kwim.

Before you purchase a new sewing machine, see if you can take it to a quilting store or to a place that fixes sewing machines. It might just be something that is simple.

Because your sewing machine is broke and you've been working on the block, I'll just extend the contest a week or so to give you time to finish it. I don't mind doing that at all. That way, everyone will get a few extra days to get the blocks to me.
