Thumbs up I got my first antique quilt today!!

It was laying on the ground at a yard sale and when I saw it another lady was looking at it. I was having heart failure and when she put it down, I immediately picked it up.

Its a sampler quilt. The back needs to be redone, but the top is in great shape and I picked it up for, get this, $1.00. Yup thats right, for one buck!!

Woohoo!!! Alright, what a great deal! I have bought a couple at yard sales but not for that price, one was 10 dollars and the other was 15 dollars. I know the feeling when someone else has their hands on it, you are just praying they'll set it down. and of course we have to be somewhat proper and not plow them down getting to it!!

Now that's an awesome deal. No one better come looking for quilts at that price (or any price for that matter) at my house

Wow!! I'd love to come across deals like that. Even our Goodwill sells quilts for 50.00 or much more. I'd love to some day have bunch of quilts. sigh.....someday

They better not look at that price for the quilts at my house either. And if they sell them for that price when I'm gone, I'm going to come back at the quilt ghost and they'll be wishing they had sold them for more.

Actually it is sad that all the work that goes into these quilts, be they new or old and some of the ridiculous prices you can purchase them for.
