Exclamation A good investment for you quilters

Seeing that your all into quilting now and making those wonderful blocks, one of the best investments to make is the purchase of a 15 x 15 inch ruler.    I can't tell you how much this will save you in aggravation and frustration when it comes to putting your quilt together.

Most blocks are under 15 inches, so when you square your blocks, you will know automatically where your out.   If your only out a bit, you can adjust your border when sewing it on your block.   If your out a lot, you'll know you have to do your block over again.     A 1/4 of an inch will make a huge difference when it comes to putting the quilt together.

Just something to put on your Santa list this year.

It is expensive, but well worth it.   If you shop at Walmart, I believe they sell them there.    I try to purchase all my quilting supplies at quilting stores so that they can stay in business.    I can't remember the price I paid for it, but I do remember almost choking when I seen the amount.    But I've never regretted purchasing it.  Other than my 6 x 12 inch ruler, this is the one I use the most.    I just like having my blocks the right size or at least knowing how much I'm out so that I can make the adjustments I need to make.

One of the main reasons for the ruler, is to square your blocks. You seldom use it for anything else.

You can use your cutting mat as well, BUT you get far better accuracy with this ruler.

If I was to have only 2 rulers, it would be a 6x12 and my 15x15 inch. I could get away with that (albeit I don't).

I have a number of rulers only because my philosophy is this: If your going to spend major $$ and major time making a quilt, I want it to be as accurate as possible. I also want to make it easier for me as a quilter, because its my passion. I don't want to have to take apart all the time, kwim.

CJ I got mine at our local quilting store. (its just heaven! all that fabric ) http://www.countryquilting.com/

I just love going in there. My dkids do too. They have a play area with a tv and movies and all!

I paid $22.?? with tax. Not a bad investment I don't think. I have a 6x12 in ruler and a 6x24 as well, so why not one more.

Melody, thats a great price. I got mine at a quilting store and paid $39.95 but it was worth the investment.

    I also have a 6 x 12 and a 6 x 24 and a few other ones I seldom use, BUT had to have them, kwim.

    I've seen the 15 x 15 Omnigrid ruler for $20.79 (?) on sale at Joann.com

I'll see if I can find the link. It's on my Christmas wish list

I think they ship to Canada..regardless, if they don't, or if it helps you any, I could order for you and ship myself to you.

*edited to add that they only ship to the U.S.
