Putting together a quilt question
Is it possible to put together a sampler quilt without the borders and just use sashing? Like in the redwork quilt shown here:
http://sunbonnetsue.com/monproject.html
That red/salmon color around the blocks--are those borders around the blocks all joined together, or is that sashing?

Michelle, it is possible, but for a sampler you usually put borders (which are the salmon color in the quilt you showed) and then sashing. Some might call that salmon color sashing, but its actually borders, in that is breaks up each block from the other.
When it comes to a sampler, if you don't have it, the blocks tend to run together. It can be done, but I think you'll be disappointed in it.
Also the salmon color is done exactly as I've posted in the tutorial, if that helps.
Does that help?
