Default What do you use as a cutting table?

or do you buy smaller amounts of fabric that don't require a large surface to cut on?

If I'm cutting for a garment to something like the apron, I use the dining room table. If I'm cutting something small like for a quilt, I sit in the floor with the cutting mat on the floor as well. I would like to have a small folding table to use for cutting for quilts and crafts but am just making do right now.

I have a HUGE piece of plywood covered with some sort of material that makes it like a counter that rests on 2 sawhorses. It works great.

If I'm cutting larger pieces such as for sewing, I put the leafs in my dining room table and use it.

For my quilting, I mostly use fat quarters because of the variety of material I can have then. I have my cuting mat on the right hand side of my sewing desk and I cut there. Its much easier for me to have everything all in one place when I'm quilting.

I have a 6 foot long fold out table that holds all 3 machines and I have a little room at the end to cut on. If its any bigger I use the dining room table. I am going to build one this summer that folds up to the wall that will be counter height.

I use my dining room table too with a cardboard cutting mat. It not only protects the table but has lot of measurements on it. Mine has seen better days, I'm about due for a new one.

I have a nice little breakfast table that I keep in my sewing room to cut on. It is about 4 ft by 4 ft and sturdy. I have it in the corner of my sewing room.

Dining table with leaves in. I use a fold out cardboard thingy to protect the surface from pins striking the wood, or the bottoms of the scissors.

I put my cutting mats under the area I'm cutting, and move as needed

but again, I'm talking clothing, not quilting here.
