What type of iron would you suggest for me?
My regular iron is a real mess. I'd like to purchase one just for my sewing and quilting. Any suggestions?

Anything but the one i have, LOL.
I'd look for one with a teflon plate (or one with a real smooth bottom, I hate mine, it isn't smooth, it catches), steam, a variety of settings...~~ Missy ~~

You can use any type of iron. I have a cheap Proctor Silex one. It just needs to have steam. I paid $19.95 for mine.

I don't have a recommendation for you but just wanted to say I'm happy watching you getting so excited about sewing & quilting.

I just use or regular iron. They have irons at JoAnns for like $50.00, but I think the $15.00 ones from wal Mart is sufficient enough.

I have the one for 9.95 that they have at walmart. I do wish I had a heavier one.

I have a Black and Decker also. I actually have about 5 (I can't pass up a nice iron at a tag sale) and I like the Black and Decker because it makes such a nice steam and keeps a constant heat.
