I plan on taking a rotary 101 class because I am like Ralphie in A Christmas Story.

I was thinking this might be good for me though. A little extra safety.

    or this one:

Most cuts from rotary tools are because the quilter has not closed the cutter when they've finished using it after each cut. They put it down and then grab it for another cut. You immediately have a cut and they can be severe.

Rule of thumb - ALWAYS close your rotary tool after every cut. Also never leave it anywhere where children can get ahold of it, even if it is closed. It can do permanent damage.

I learnt the hard way to close it. I cut a finger quite badly a few years ago. I had always been telling others to close it, and I hadn't. It took quite some time to heal and I remember now to close it when finished every cut.

I've never seen those before, but they look like they'd be a good investment
