There is a quilt shop less than a mile from me, but the prices are terribly expensive. The next closest store is JoAnn which is within 5 miles.

The quilt shop is about 5 minutes from me and I have to tame my cravings at Joanns everyday that I am at work. It is nice to play with all the fabric though.

The amish fabric store is about 20 minutes from here. They have terrific prices, about half the price of a quilting store. They don't have the overhead. They have TONS of fabric to choose from.

There is a beautiful quilting shop about 25 minutes the other direction.

There's one quilt shop down the road from me. She mostly sells scraps of fabric, a few select do hickies but mainly focusus on sewing and quilting lessons. There's another one about 20 mins away and she has fabric, books, tons of quilts for sale. Jo Ann's is about 1/2 hr from me.

We actually have a quilt shop in our county, its about 7 miles away...
We DON'T have a variety store, shoe store, wal mart, Mc Donald's. regular clothing store are type super store in our county. I have to drive a minimun of 45 minutes to get anything at a reasonable price.
The only chain stores in the county are: Longs Drugs, KFC, Burger King, Taco Bell,...oh yeh, they have a Block Buster, but want $4.00 a movie, and a star bucks coffee is open to, but I just like cheap coffee.
The little movie theature opened up again, about 4 years ago, and they cut it into 3 theatures, haven't been to it yet. The last time I was in a movie theature was to see Back To The Future, in the early 80's?
Do I sound like, I have a sheltered life? And, this is in California...ha
