You have material already at home but need to purchase a few more colors to work with on a new project your making. Cut a small piece off the material you already have and staple it on to a notecard, along with the pattern you want to make. Also write down the size of quilt you plan on making and the amounts of material you need.

Once inside the quilting store, you now have samples and all the information you need with you rather than second guessing yourself as to what colors or amount of material you need.

Excellent idea! Don't know how many times I've stood in the store with bolts of fabric surrounding me trying to decide by memory!!
