Quilting tip #19
How to keep track of complex patterns and many different colors.
When doing a complex pattern that takes a few different colors, make a rough sketch of the pattern on paper. Color in the different pieces with the same color as your material.
I like to number each piece of material and pin the number on the material. I then number the colored piece on the paper with the exact same number.
This comes in really handy for log cabin quilts and for any complex pattern.
