Quilting club members - A fun way and a chance to win a sampler quilt
Okay ladies, how would you like to end up with a sampler quilt, made with blocks from fv members. This is for beginner quilters as well as experienced. If there is enough interest this time, I'd like to do another one closer to Christmas. You must belong to the Quilter's Club to join the fun. If your aren't a quilting club member, you can sign up today in this thread. Quilting club
Here is how this will work.
~you only have to make one block.
~the block must measure 12 1/2 inches no exceptions here
~all blocks must be to me by Oct. 15th.
~on Oct. 16th, I will draw a name from each person who sent a block and the member's name who is drawn will win all the blocks. It will then be up to you as to how you want to finish your quilt.
~for each person who signs up, I will send them a piece of material. You will use that piece of material and any other material you would like to use in the block.
~all material used must be 100% cotton, washed and pressed before making your block
~you can make any patterned block you want.
~all blocks must have a paper pinned to the block with your name on it and the block pattern.
It would be nice to have 12 quilting club members take part. More would be even bettter.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
Anyone interested?
I'm in on this one...

Pieced? Appliqued? Crazy quilt? Does it matter?
You know me-- I'm not much for piecing blocks

Denise, you can do the block anyway you want with any pattern you want.
All I ask is that you wait until you get the material from me. There has to be some of that material in your block.
Its entirely up to you what you want to do. I can assure you, I won't be doing applique!

The first of next week I'll get everyones in the mail that has signed up to that date. I'll be cutting the material today.
Everyone will get exactly the same amount of material and the same color and pattern. That way, there will be some continuity in the blocks.
I've got to say I'm really excited about the response.

I'm still thinking about it--I've got a lot of sewing & quilting projects to do before Christmas, and even though this is only one block, I'm not sure I can commit.
I'll post later this weekend.
