Talking I lost it yesterday - I really did.

We had to go to Winnipeg yesterday and you always know where I end up when I go to Winnipeg - yup the quilting store.

Okay thats fine - the owner of the store is a friend and I've bought oodles and oodles of material from her.

Okay thats fine too - most of you have heard of "The Red Hat Society".   If you haven't, here is there website.   http://www.redhatsociety.com/   They now have 27 groups in Winnipeg alone.

Okay thats fine once again.   Well they now have quilting material that is wonderful in reds and purples, but they also have panels that are to die for.     I ordered a bunch.    Here is a link that has The Red Hat Society quilting material.   http://www.redhatsociety.com/

    The panel:

I ordered some!!      And I'm going to be joining a group in the closest city to us (an hour away).

btw - I also ordered some other material.   The new fall materials are STUNNING!!!

btw - you should see the quilts these ladies are  making in reds & purples.    And the applique blocks they are doing with "red hats".

CJ, I have seen this material and it's a hoot! My friend Cheri made a quilt with the panels that you are showing and it turned out great! I have also seen these same panels in green. Cheri and I joke that the skinny little lady is her and the more rounded 1 is me!

I think it's great that you'll be joining a group. Makes me want to be a little older. When I was a member of the antiquarians, I was in my 20's and no one else was under 55. Maybe I could fib about my age and say I go for botox treatments. lol

That fabric is just so funny.

Debbie I seen the material in green and they also have it in blues - BUT that just isn't the colors for the red hat society.    When I was at the quilting store yesterday all 4 of us said the exact same thing - it has to be purple and red.

    Sara,

Carolyn, you ready to join them too.    I can picture you already in a red hat and purple dress.       Now purple is definitely not my color, but to stretch myself beyond anything I ever imagined I would, I definitely am going to join.

Woo hoo, there is one only about 40 mins. from me, rather than going into Brandon.    I've contacted them via e-mail and can't wait to find out the info.

Darlene, I'm gonna live it up!!

Oh I'm excited that you got oodles more material.

That's cool about joining the Red Hat Society. It has really grown here in Nevada. I love how you can always spot one with the red and purple on.

Well my resolve to hold off purchasing material flew out the door the other day when I got some on order. Then again today I purchased 9 1/2 metres at $5 per metre, regular price $12.95. The owner of the store knows me quite well and threw in the end pieces so I got about 11 metres of material. Its all washed and dried, all ready to press.

Wow you really got a great deal on that fabric! Good for you! I haven't even washed my new stuff yet. I will do it over the weekend. But with the 10 yards of muslin, I'm going to wait till I find a project to use it on and then cut off what I will need and wash it. I can't imagine ironing 10 yards of fabric at one time.
