Exclamation TUTORIAL - Changing the look of your block (just for fun)

PLEASE DO NOT POST TO THIS THREAD

I'm going to use the this tutorial and were going to completely change the look of the block. MINI TUTORIAL - Fabric Frolic block

Make one of these blocks. Now find a contrasting color. I used a much darker color just so you could see the difference in this block.

Cut 4 - 5 1/4 inch squares. Once cut, cut corner to corner to make 4 triangles, just as in this picture.

Take one of your triangles and place on your block. Sew, making sure you sew with your 1/4 inch seam allowance. Before you sew, look at the following tip and picture in the next post Once sewn your block will look like this.

Tip - When sewing, place your block the exact way as in the picture. When you sew, sew with your 1/4 inch seam allowance and your line should go right over the "x" as in the picture. If you do it this way, you'll should have a perfect point when you turn your block over.

Take your next triangle and opposite the one you have just sewn, sew exactly the same way as you did with the first one. Press.

Do the exact same thing with the next 2 triangles. Your 3rd triangle will look like this. Once sewn, do the 4th triangle opposite it. Again press towards the outside of the block.

Now watch the magic. Look at the centre block and see how it is now. Just with a little playing around and adding a few triangles, you can make a totally different looking block.

This block should measure 9 1/4 inches when finished. Again you can finish a quilt exactly the same way as mentioned in the main tutorial. You wouldn't have to use has many blocks (thats the only difference).
