Jacob's Ladder quilt
Twenty years ago I made a small Jacob's Ladder quilt for my DH. He has used it to pieces and I have patched it and replaced the binding until it truly is falling apart. So in July I bought the fabric for a new one. The fabric is blues, browns, and cream. It is all cut out--all 448 pieces of it. Next step was sewing the 320 squares into 160 pairs. Now I am stitching the 160 pairs into 80 4-patches--30 done and 50 to go. Then I will sew the 128 triangles together to form 64 squares. All by hand stitching. I love to put my little pieces together to make something beautiful and useful.

That's incredible that you're hand stitching the entire thing. I'm sure it will be beautiful and well you already know it will be put to good use.

You must have a lot of patience. I have a machine and can't seem to get enough patience to machine stitch a block let alone an entire quilt.

I really like hand stitching because you can take it with you and do little pieces at a time while waiting at the doctors office, while watching a DVD, etc. (At this rate, the picture will be posted in about 2092...LOL)

I would LOOOOVE to be able to do that!!! I don't know ANYTHING about sewing though... except you need a needle & thread! I admire you immensely!
