Question One last roll call - who is quilting?

I have 4 projects in the works right now.

~I have 10 log cabin blocks I need to finish for a quilting store in Winnipeg. They cut the material up and you just pick up as many pkgs. as you want and sew them up for them. They use the blocks for charity. This year, they are making table runners to sell and all monies go to breast cancer research.

~I'm working on making a log cabin for one of my grandsons for Christmas

~while doing that, I'm making up a log cabin block each day so that come Jan. I can make up a few charity quilts

~I'm hand quilting another quilt top (in my spare time)

How about you? What are you working on?

I actually have three in mind that I want to do. One in pink for my mother (since she has breast cancer), on in shades of blue for neice Nattie, and one in a musical theme for DS. Now to find the fabrics.

CJ I think that's great that they cut the pieces and all you do is sew them together. Are they in a certain scheme? ie...log cabin, jacobs ladder etc...?

Ellise, yes they are. This year they are log cabins. Last year we did triangles and they made a couple quilts.

They get their material from customers bring in small pieces that they have leftover from quilts they've made and don't want to use again. So some of the material is certainly material I would probablly never use in a quilt. But sewing them up for charity is perfect.

I'm still working on my scrappie quilt for my bed...right now I'm piecing together the top...it's going to be kind of a memory quilt - all of the predominate big blocks are from some of the favorite clothes the kids have outgrown or worn out, clothes I loved & have either *outgrown* or would never wear again, & squares from my Daddy's favorite shirts that I was lucky enough to get when he died....I'm going to use a California King-size white flat sheet as my backing so I'm trying to size things accordingly.....

Guess I couldn't have started with an apron or something easy - a king-sized quilt is huge!!

Now that the weather is much cooler, I;ve started back up on the quilt I started the end of last year. I want to make a tree skirt. Then I am currently working on a Vera Bradley style tote bag for SIL for Christmas- granted it's not a quilt, but it does have batting to make it all mice and soft like a quilt, LOL.

I have lots of UFO's packed away. Right now I'm working on a duvet for ds that won't be quilted. I also found my instructions the other day that I've been saving for a ragged homespun quilt. I am thinking of making one of those out of ds's baby and toddler clothes I saved.

2 years ago, I started a wall hanging quilt (first project), all hand piecing. I ran into a wee bit of a problem with the whole project not being totally even around the edges, so I stashed it....however, I found a co worker that quilts and she's going to help me finish it! YYeeeeaaaahhhhh!! So, I hope to have it up by this christmas......

I'm hand quilting the queen size quilt for my Mom and Dad. I need to work on my christmas theme quilt (better do that soon) and I need to cut out dh's lap quilt. I also have already cut out a Christmas quilt for ds using a panel with a Christmas scene on it. It should go together quickly as it large peices.

I have a Flourishes quilt that I have to put an applique border on before I can start hand quilting it. I have another block of the month that I need to put a border on. I have my never ending Dear Jane quilt. I only have about 50 of those 5 inch blocks done. These are the main ones. I have a bunch in mind to do when these are finished.

Kay, do you have a pic or a link to the Dear Jane quilt? It sounds interesting and I was curious what it looks like. Thanks.

I'm making DH a rag quilt for Christmas. My Christmas cards have a quilted paper pieced ornament placed behind the cut out window in the front of the card...I need to make 40 of them. That's all the quilting I'm doing for Christmas, but I'm planning on making lots of yo yo's in my spare time...Ha, what spare time?
