Cool Do you buy Quilting Magazines?

I've resisted up untill now. I usually don't even look at them because they are so pricey. Last week I had some free time at Walmart and browsed the books and mags and found two Quilting magazines that I just had to have. They were around $10.00 for both of them. Way too outrageous but I treated myself. Haven't bought any fabric in a long time.

    Does anyone else buy them?

I buy them sometimes, can't resist. There is a quilt shop near me that sells older magazines for $1 and I have seen quilt guilds sell them cheap at quilt shows too.

I love creative needle, sew beautiful and taste of home too.

No not anymore although I almost did yesterday. I try to pick up magazines at our libraries. They are just too expensive in Canada.

I do subscribe to 2, Quilters Newsletter and BH&G American Patchwork and Quilting. I am think of subscribing to The Quilter also...It is so much cheaper to have a subscription rather than buying individually.

I will pick up other magazines if there is something I really love, or if there is a special issue. Fons and Porter had a special issues a couple of months ago regarding the Log Cabin block so I did buy that issue. It also came with 2 special booklets, one on machine quilting with a Bernina, and the other has quick patterns for some bags and other quilted gift ideas. Eyeglass case, tissue cover etc...

I do occassionally if there is something in them that really interest me or a pattern that is unique that I have not seen elsewhere.

I think you deserve a treat Carolyn. Enjoy your new magazines.
