Talking Here's my Brother's Quilt, Pics.

Just finished it. But, today is his birthday and we're several states apart, lol. I called him and wished him happy birthday and told him his gift will be on it's way tomorrow.

Here is a closeup of the panels. I bought 4 panels(8 pics) and put a 4" border around them. I used the leaf fabric for the backing and the edgeing. I machine sewed the whole thing together. I hand sewed the antlers, eyes, and nose on each deer so they look 3D.

Thank you all for the nice compliments. It was fun and fast to make and I think he will like it.

Ok, now where did you get the panel fabric of the deer?
Dee, I actually got the deer head panels at my little Yarn/Fabric store but when I went to Walmart I saw they had the same and they even had the matching leaf print for the backing and the shades of matching fabric I needed for the border. My Walmart has oodles of panels and matching fabric. I got some to make my nephew a quilt like this one but his has horses on it and the backing is horses running in a field with steams and trees, quite pretty.

I spent $35.00 on the fabric for one quilt which is 53"x80" finished. I bought 4 panels (8 pictures), 4 1/2 yards of backing fabric, and 2 yards of fabric for the border. The batting would be extra but I used the batting from one of ds's old comforters for the deer quilt. (Recycle, Recycle, lol)

These work up really fast since the only thing you actually add to it is the border and the backing and I folded the backing to the front to make the binding. You just top stitch the frames around the deer. With most batting, it recommends that you have stitching every 4 inches so that was plenty for mine.
