Question Have you ever bought fabric squares on Ebay?

Has anyone ever bought fabric squares on ebay? The prices are just unreal! Lots of them start at .01 cent and shipping is usually around $2.00. One I saw was for 47, 4 in. blocks and listing price was .01 cents. How can anyone afford to sell fabric blocks for that price?

Have you ever bought fabric for quilting on ebay at all? Any good or bad experiences?

    Just wondering.

I've purchased some of the fabric squares off ebay and was pleased with my purchase. It was several years ago and I can't remember the cost but it was cheap. So nice to have them already cut and ready to go. When I purchased mine, the person sold them by the color scheme - like blues, reds, etc. I was always happy with the fabrics they used and the cutting size was correct.

I don't purchase off eBay so I can't tell you.

Just be careful they are 100% cotton if your going to be using them for a quilt. You also want to make sure its good quality.

If I was going to order some, I would just order a few and see how it turns out. At that price, you can't go wrong if you don't purchase a large amount.

I have, I only bid up to 1.00 a yard (roughly) including shipping and I have made 2 quilts with them (approx. full to queen size) and I still have more but not enough for another one.
For the most part they were good quality one batch had a few "bad" ones in the group. I think they were cotton but it was really thick.

I have also bought quilt blocks, already sewn together that I then make a top with. It was GREAT, I do not do triagles well so I bought them and finally have a quilt with triagles that are not goofy.

So for me, good dealings with fabric blocks on e-bay.

I have purchased quilt squares off of ebay. I have difficulty cutting due to a wrist injury and I've been happy with my purchases. Check the person's posted comments from other buyers to see how reliable they are.

I don't purchase fabric off ebay because I am real picky about quality. I once participated in a fabric square exchange and the swappers were told to only submit quilt shop quality material. Apparently some people don't know what that means because one swapper sent me a bunch of squares that were basically useless. Most of it was poly cottons or very thin cheap cottons.

I have bought fabric off of e-bay and I was happy with all but one purchase...it smelled really bad of cigarette smoke, and I had an awful time getting it out
