Thumbs up What a fun and easy scrap quilt to make

This would make a great quilt for teens, for charities or just for kids. I love how easy this quilt is to make and you can use up all your scraps.

I did this one block in less than 5 minutes. I'll show you how 4 blocks joined together look after lunch.

Your block is really pretty, cj. I'm going to use my scraps for some of those blocks too.

This is such an easy block to make. If you have trouble with quilting, anyone can do this. All you need is some strips (scraps) and you sew. Nothing has to line up when the 4 blocks are put together.

The only thing that needs to line up is when you sew the 4 blocks together. When you've pinned them the back should line up as in this picture. See where I have the pin. The 2 seams should fit into each other (opposite).

Here is the finished block. I did all each block 6 1/2 inches. The finished block is now 12 1/2 inches.

Also because its a scrappy block, you don't need to matach any colors. I love that about scrappy quilts (my favorite).

    That looks great cj

I'm going to try it too.

Did you use muslin or a sheet? I have muslin to use, but I don't have any white sheets LOL

You can use muslin. I used some square pieces of material I had been given awhile back and hadn't used.

    Sheets will work as well.

If you have any old clothes laying around like shirts, skirts, etc. you can use that too.

I like that the strips don't have to be the same width or match up

I'm going to make a block or two of these over the weekend

I've done 5 blocks now and its so quick to do up. I love the way it uses up scrap pieces of any size. My block is 6 1/2 inches, however you can make the block larger or smaller, whatever you want to do. Doing a 6 1/2 inch block, you end up with a 12 1/2 inch block by the time you join 4 together.

I really, really like that! I've tried a quilt that had the blocks turned and then you've got the triangles all along the edge and although I managed it, it was a pain.

    This is cool, thank you!
