Anyone heard of "minky" material
I've heard its just the softest material around. I'm going to be looking for some of this to make my own "minky" blanket.

Anyone done anything with minky material as of yet?

My local craft store has a huge display of it. It is so incredibly soft and it makes gorgeous baby blankets. I even saw a lovey (half blanket/half bear) made out of it. It was adorable. My little boy loves to touch it, but it's a little pricey here. Good luck with it. And let us know if it turns out well.

I heard its very expensive too. I've also heard many quilters saying they want a "minky" blanket all of their own.
Now I have a reason to visit a quilting store.

Darlene, deals or not I think I'm going to buy some.
I just want to be able to say "I have a minky blanket and it goes everywhere with me". Then those who think I'm loonie will know it.

I bought some at Keepsake Quilting's summer sale. They had an auction for some random sized pieces. I haven't really played with it yet but it is fun to pet.

Do you like purchasing "fat quarters" or do you prefer yds/metres of material instead
